What is Bacteriastatic™ Water?
Bacteriastatic™ Water is sanitary, non-pyrogenic water that contains benzyl alcohol (5mg/mL) added as a bacteriastatic preservative. This preparation of water and benzyl alcohol (BnOH) allows repeated withdrawals to be made from a single 30mL plastic vial. As a supplier of bacteriastatic, we advise that once a vial of bac water is open, the preservatives will prolong its life for up to 30 days. After this period, the vial should be discarded.
The difference between bacteriastatic water and regular distilled water is that distilled waters do not contain a bacteriastatic agent. As such, they are single-dose vials and should be discarded after a single use. Ours do contain a bacteriastatic agent and will last in refrigerator for 30 days. Our water will not collect bacteria and is sanitary to use.
